I ordered this to cover a futon mattress. My order arrived quickly and the product fit well. I had no difficulty putting it on the mattress, nor with closing the zippers. It seems durable, but time will tell. It has only been in use a couple weeks. All in all, I am very pleased with the product thus far.

Since the zipper is not completely covered, ... use duck tape to cover that zipper. Then you should be bug free!!
Why spend a lot of money when you don't have to ?????
Its worth a try, ... right?

Xl twin mattress cover

My husband has Alzheimers and resides at a local care home. I needed good mattress protection for the hospital bed we purchased. This vinyl mattress cover was one of the few I could buy in Xl twin for a decent price. The mattress was good quality and easy to slip on the pillowtop mattress. The zipper was strong and easy to use. I would recommend this mattress cover.

Vinyl Mattress Cover

We had been looking for a matress cover to replace the one we had, but most that we found were so thin we felt they would not last long. We ordered this one and found that it was of great quality and thick enought that it will hold up a long time. We were not sure which one to order because our mattress is nine inches thick on the sides but thicker in the middle. We ordered this one and it fit perfectly. We have a king size mattress which is heavy and hard to handle. This one tore a little nect to the zipper but we are very happy with it. In fact, we ordered two more, one for a queen size bed and another for a spare for the king size bed. We do not have a problem with bed bugs so that was not a consideration. Certainly, the price is right for this item. We did not find any comparable covers that were close to this price. We would highly recommend this mattress cover.

concerned about mites & bedbugs?

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this mattress cover. From what I understand, this mattress cover would not be adequate if I had an actual infestation of bedbugs because the zipper isn't sealed completely. However, the bedbug issue is relatively minor for us. We don't have any and I haven't heard of any in our city, a small one in Georgia. Therefore, my bigger concern was just general protection from the mites and other "critters" all of us humans carry around on our body and which can contribute to allergies.

Mattress covers for bedbugs - if you get the really good ones recommended by Consumer Reports - are pretty expensive - approaching $100-$150 for a queen set. I've got three queen beds so that's a pretty solid investment. I also researched this on the Centers for Disease Control website www.cdc.gov and this is a fantastic resource when you have questions about such critters.

At any rate, we purchased this vinyl mattress cover and had no problem with installing it on our box spring. We have a queen size four poster bed. The box springs fit the frame well but not "tightly". We had no rips or holes in the vinyl mattress cover. Got both mattresses covered. With the mattress pad on top, you can't tell the vinyl cover is on. There's no smell and no crinkling noise with movement. So, looks like this will work out pretty well for us. We've had it one week - it would probably be better to wait several months prior to sending in a review so take this with a tiny grain of salt. For my clearly defined purpose, general mattress protection from liquids and lower exposure to mites, this is a good purchase. Can't think of any downside.
