poor purchase
we ordered the mattress cover based on previous reviews. We washed it in cold water before trying to put it on. We could not get it all the way on or zip it. A total waste of money for us because we could not return it after washing it. NO more mail purchases for us.NO LIke It

almost perfect
I have a 3" natural latex topper on a 6" foam mattress. The mattress has a zippered cover, but the topper came without one, and it's impossible to find one separately. This mattress cover turned out to be a great solution, because it fits over the mattress and topper together. I washed it first, and dried on low temp -- if there was any shrinkage, the sizing must have allowed for it, because it still fit perfectly. The fabric is very lightweight and probably wouldn't stand up to much abuse, but I plan to leave it in place more or less permanently as a first layer of protection, and then use a regular, washable mattress pad on top of that. My only complaint is that the zipper is flimsy and the fabric is not reinforced well along the zipper seam. I nearly tore the fabric at one end of the zipper in the process of putting the cover on the mattress, and then the pull/slider came all the way off the zipper at one end. Once the cover was in place and we were able to thread the slider back onto the zipper, we stitched the zipper closed about one inch from the end to keep the slider from opening all the way and falling off again, just in case we ever need to remove the cover. Overall, it's a good product, at a good price. Customer service was also excellent -- they were able to offer a slightly more economical shipping option when at first it looked like delivery would cost about the same as the product itself.

Mattress Cover that zips
I ordered two of these covers because of the negative reviews. I found that one was plenty. In fact the cover was big for my queen size mattress. I did not need the second cover so I am returning it.

We like that it is zippered
We buy this for our son's bed he was picking at his mattress. He is special needs. It is zippered and that is what I like as he can not pull it off. We buy a queen size but his bed is full- it just makes it easier for me to take off and I do not have to worry if I shrink it. I have not found it to be flimsy at all. I have washed the one I have many times. The color is off white. it is not water proof but we were not looking for water proof. Good price.

Yes I recommend this product.
Great price but VERY fragile
I knew they would be fragile ... other reviews said so, but finding covers like this anywhere at any price is not easy. So I bought two of them anyway. They are VERY fragile. The fabric, even using the utmost care, still tore along the seam and when I zipped it up, the zipper pull came off in my hand and the zipper didn't actually zip. They are not expensive, but clearly this will be a single-use item. Is it worth it? I really am not sure. Concept is fine. Size is perfect. Execution? Not so good. I really searched the internet for these and the few other non-plastic covers I found were much more costly AND apparently just as fragile: same complaints, except that people paid more. So, I can live with it. Not like it's going anywhere. Also, after you finally and oh so carefully get it on your mattress, it feels great.
